The facebook social plugin interface is a bit cumbersome, and every WordPress plugin that deals with adding Facebook widgets seemed out of date. So I wrote my own.

Facebook Social Plugin Widgets adds three widgets to wordpress: the Facebook Like Box, Activity Feed, and Recommendations. Each loads with the XFBML version and the facebook javascript is loaded in the footer only when the widgets are active.

Installation

1. Download the .zip file and unpack it
2. Upload the fb-sp-widgets folder to your wp-content/plugins/ directory
3. Activate the plugin via the WordPress admin section
4. That’s it! Add the widgets as you like (some examples are below)

Requirements

• WordPress 3.1.3+

Usage

The widgets work like any other WordPress widgets. Simply drop them into the sidebar and you’re good to go. All the options from the social plugins pages on Facebook are available via the widget options.

Known Issues

First off, the plugin only loads the english version of the facebook javascript. That said, the plugin itself is (mostly) ready for translation.
